Synopsis for "Trust"

Even a week after Christmas, Wally West is still in deep thought about the shocking return of his mentor Barry Allen. He remembers how Barry gave his life to save the universe and how Wally took over the mantle of the Flash afterwards.

While Wally is still suspicious about the sudden return of Barry, Hal Jordan is more than happy that his best friend Barry Allen came back to life. As expected, there are also some difficulties, e.g. as Barry attacks his old adversary Pied Piper, although this is now a friend of Wally who supplies him with information about the underworld. In addition, Barry Allen still does not know that Wally has taken over the identity of the Flash after his disappearance years ago. But as Wally shows up in his costume it does not seem to bother Barry at all. Together the two go on to search "Handsome" Jack Giacomo. According to the Pied Piper, assassins were hired to kill the narcistic crime boss. Its not difficult to find Giacomo because every year he visits the amusement park of Central City on New Year's Eve.

Wally and Barry confront the mob boss directly and he admits that he himself had spread the information about him being in danger so that the Flash would protect him. Giacomo's plan works as it is no problem for Wally and Barry to find the three hired guns and hand them over to the police. But quickly after that, Barry disappears and Wally follows him to a cemetery where Barry visits the grave of his late wife Iris. In tears, Barry stands in front of the grave and remembers how he had asked Iris to become his wife. That happened right on the ferris wheel of Central City's amusement park. As Wally sees this, he feels bad for doubting his mentor. Barry had not mentioned Iris since his return because he thought it was unfair that she is not able to come back to life as well. But now Barry wants to look forward and use the second chance given to him - not only to live a new life but also to run side by side with Wally West ...
