Synopsis for "Friday the 13th"

Framing Sequence
Sally Thomas is bruised, naked and running frantically down a dark highway, desperate to evade the oncoming attack of mass murderer Jason Voorhees. An elderly couple in an RV pick her up and bring her to a local hospital. At the hospital, Sally is sedated, but the county sheriff arrives and wants to ask her some questions.

Main Story
Takes place two weeks earlier
In a nearby town, two young teenagers, Nate Dodds and Jerry White stop at the 24 7 Diner and ask for a ride to Camp Crystal Lake. The diner's patrons refuse to acknowledge their presence and ignore them entirely. Outside, the boys come upon a wild-eyed young man who makes a slashing gesture across his throat and begins howling in laughter. Nate and Jerry quickly shy away from the strange individual and continue towards the campground on foot.

At Camp Crystal Lake, five young men and women arrive at the site to begin working as junior counselors before the official re-opening of the campground. Included in this group are Ryan (a UCLA student), Sasha (his curmudgeon girlfriend), Brian Evans (a neo-hippie), Rico (a former drug dealer), Alisha Jackson (Rico's girlfriend) and Sally Thomas (a troubled young woman). They meet the property manage Trevor Gaines and the senior counselor Mike Burns. Gaines tells them about the reputation the camp has garnered over the years, specifically the legendary serial killings wrought by the deranged masked murderer Jason Voorhees. Gaines wants to use the camp's nightmarish history as a marketing ploy. After introductions are made, Gaines leaves the group in the care of Mike Burns.

That afternoon, the teens take some time to relax on a wooden raft out on the lake. Brian Evans and Mike Burns appear to be experts on the campground's bloody history and they tell the others the story of Jason Voorhees and his murderous mother Pamela Voorhees. As the teens continue to converse, Sally decides to take a swim. As she nears the center of the lake, she feels something tugging at her foot. Suddenly, she is dragged beneath the water whereupon she sees images of dozens of mutilated children.

Synopsis for "Part II"

The counselors manage to rescue Sally and pull her back to the shore. They administer CPR and Sally appears to be fine.

Later that evening, Rico and Alisha are making love in their cabin. They are interupted when they discover the two new junior counselors Jerry White and Nate Dodds peeping at them through the window. Rico flies into a rage and chase after them completely naked. Nate and Jerry reach the safety of the other counselors before Rico can get his hands on them and Mike Burns tells Rico to cover himself because he's "scaring the girls" with his nakedness. Mike also makes sure that Sally is okay after her near-drowning experience earlier, but in truth, he is really using the time as an opportunity to make a move on her. Sally doesn't fall for it, and tells Mike that she's not interested.

After things calm down, Ryan, Sasha, Brian, Nate and Jerry go to Ryan's cabin to play some guards. Sasha continues to make fun of Brian, berating him for his nerdish behavior and high I.Q. Ryan puts up a half-hearted defense for his friend, but it is still enough to anger Sasha and she storms out of the cabin. She walks down towards the lake where she sees the spectral forms of several bodies rising from the lake. She races back to tell the others, but Nate and Jerry think that she's just high.

A short while later, Brian Evans goes to Sally's cabin. Sally is sitting on her bed and doesn't realize that he's watching her. She is clearly frustrated about something and tosses her belongings onto the floor. She catches a glimpse of Brian's reflection in the mirror.

Still later, Nate and Jerry leave Ryan's cabin and go out onto the lake raft. They lie back and discuss the events of the day. Suddenly, Jason Voorhees launches himself from the lake and stabs both boys through the head with sharp instruments. He drags their bodies down into the lake.

Synopsis for "Part III"

It is early morning and Mike Burns begins gathering his crew together. However, Nate and Jerry are missing. Mike starts doling out assignments and has Sasha and Alisha repaint the cabins while the guys work on repairing the roof to the rec center. He asks Sally to come with him to look for Nate and Jerry.

Driving down the road, Mike continues hitting on Sally who reaffirms the fact that she is not interested in him. He begins talking about his fondness for serial killer lore and that he has read extensively upon the subject. Sally grows suspicious of Mike when she finds a hockey mask beneath the seat of the truck. Mike assures her that it is merely a prop used to promote the camp's historical lore.

Back at the camp, the guys work on the Rec center roof, but tempers rise when Rico begins agitating Brian. Brian fires back at Rico and the larger man loses his temper and begins throttling him. Ryan steps in to break up the fight and Rico shoves him, nearly knocking him off the roof. The three continue grappling with one another until they all topple from the roof onto a haystack. It begins raining and they go inside one of the cabins to dry off.

Day turns to night, and Mike and Sally still haven't round the two missing counselors. To make matters worse, Mike's truck blows a tire and he is forced to venture into the downpour to repair it. While he's working, Jason Voorhees comes up behind him and bashes him across the head with a tire iron. He then drags Mike's body beneath the suspended rim of the car. He lowers the jack and the bare metal wheel comes down crushing Mike's skull. Sally screams in terror and begins running back to camp.

When she arrive, she bursts into the cabin and begins frantically telling everyone that Mike is dead. They try to calm her down, but they appear incredulous when she states that he was killed by Jason Voorhees. They believe Jason to be little more than an urban legend. Sally opens the door to the cabin. As she peers outside, she sees Jason standing in the rain waiting for her.

Synopsis for "Part IV"

Sally meets the others in a cabin and frantically tells them that Jason Voorhees is after her. The other counselors look outside, but see no evidence of Jason. Sally tries to convince them that she watched Jason kill Mike Burns. They go out to Ryan's jeep to find his cell phone, but when they open the door, they instead find the severed heads of Nate and Jerry.

Genuinely scared now, the counselors all decide to hole up inside the Rec House. Rico tells them that so long as they all stick together, they should be fine. Everyone is present except for Brian Evans. Despite Rico's warning, Ryan decides to go and find him. After searching through several cabins, he finally finds Brian, and tries to warn him. Brian is frustrated over other matters however. He is sick and tired of suffering the abuse and criticisms of people like Rico. Despite Ryan's pleas, he refuses to go the Rec House knowing that Rico is there.

Meanwhile, Sally Thomas realizes that her medication is still in her cabin. It has been too long since she last too her pills, and she desperately needs them. Rico, Sasha and Alisha try to keep her in the Rec House, but Sally leaves. When she gets to her cabin, she finds that someone has taken her meds, threw them in the toilet and urinated on them. As Sally begins fishing them out, Jason Voorhees appears behind her. As Jason begins slashing at her, Sally picks up the toilet tank cover and bashes him across the head with it. Jason falls to the floor, but this only fuels Sally on as she continues to batter at his face until he is unconscious. Sally removes Jason's hockey mask and lets out a startled gasp.

Synopsis for "Part V"

The Present
Sally Thomas is in a hospital recovering from shock and several minor injuries. A county sheriff is present and asks her questions pertaining to the recent killing spree at Camp Crystal Lake.

Two Weeks Earlier
In the middle of the night, Trevor Gaines returns to Camp Crystal Lake to get an update on recent events. He wants to know why he hasn't heard from Mike Burns. The other counselors tell him that Mike's been killed and that a masked murderer is even now stalking the campground. Trevor has difficulty believing their story. However, he agrees to take everybody out of the camp in his truck, but warns them that it might be dangerous because the roads are washed out.

To prove their story, Ryan shows Gaines the inside of his own vehicle which is still occupied by the severed heads of Nate Dodds and Jerry White. As Trevor turns around, an arrow flies from out of nowhere and goes through his throat. Ryan races back into the Rec center.

Back in her own cabin, Sally looks down at the body of the unconscious Jason Voorhees. However, it is not actually Voorhees that lies at her feet, but Brian Evans. Without her medication, Sally envisioned Brian as Voorhees and killed him. In anguish, she tears off all of her clothing. She slips on a puddle of Brian's blood and cracks her head on a window sill. The real Jason Voorhees walks into the cabin, sees her unconscious form and carries it off.

At the rec center, Ryan and the others discuss their situation. Sasha looks out the window, but Jason appears before her. He swings his machete through the glass and cleaves Sasha's head in twain. He then pulls her body through the window out into the darkness.

Ryan, Rico and Sasha decide that they have no other choice but to fight back. They slowly step outside of the Rec center into the night. Jason appears and decapitates Ryan with one swift stroke from his machete. Rico and Alisha run in terror.

Sally meanwhile awakens inside of a cabin surrounded by the bodies of Jason's victims. She stumbles outside and picks up Jason's machete.

The Present
The sheriff continues to question Sally about the events of that tragic night. He probes her about her bi-polar condition and brings up some uncomfortable elements from Sally's past: particularly, an incident involving the death of her former boyfriend Ben Kale.
