Gabriela Matias is the Grison, a criminal ally of the Joker, which made her a rival and enemy of Harley Quinn.

History

Origin

Gabriela Matias was a mustelid zoologist who contacted Dr. Emile Dorian, who was working on an experiment based on genetic manipulation innovated by Kirk Langstrom. Dorian and his young assistant Abel Cuvier were looking to create a hybrid between a human and a member of the Mustelidae family, so she volunteered as a test subject. Gabriela chose the grison because it is well known in her country for its speed, agility and cunning. The experiment was a complete success, and Gabriela took on the identity of the Grison, and from then on she used her new abilities to stealth banks and other crime sprees around Gotham City.

Harley Quinn: Harley Loves the Joker

During Harleen's early years as the Joker's accomplice, Grison allided with him and she became one of his closest henchmen. During that time, Grison had a serious rivalry with Harley Quinn because the Joker was giving her more credit than Harley, making Harley jealous. However, this alliance did not last long, because while the Joker and Harley were escaping from Batman, they left Grison behind on the roof of a building, where Batman proceeded to arrest her to be taken to prison.
