Garth was one of the original members of the Teen Titans and former Aqualad who became the current Aquaman. He sired an estranged daughter named Tula, after his late girlfriend, whom he may have had little or no part in raising, something he has in common with some of his fellow Titans.
He joins the Justice League when Superman comes out of retirement. He travels with the rest of the team to the Gulag to contain the prisoner revolt. Captain Marvel arrives and blasts the Gulag, freeing all the prisoners, who then attack the surrounding Justice League members.
