Synopsis for "Devil May Care"
In Las Vegas, Freestyle walks into the strip club she owns. Two of her employees discuss how she used to work as a dancer until she used money she won gambling at casinos to buy the club. Later, when she enters a casino, security guards take her to an office to meet Julian Modet. He wants to know her secret to winning so much, and she explains her ability to see alternate futures. He disbelieves her and insists on getting a portion of her winnings as a kickback. She refuses and uses her powers and fighting skills to beat Modet and his thugs. She returns to her club to find Threshold waiting for her.

Synopsis for "Occupied Territory"
In 1980 in Soviet-occupied Afghanistan, Deathblow attacks a Soviet tank unit on patrol. The tank returns fire, and he is wounded by shrapnel from the resulting explosion. He takes shelter in a nearby building and is soon stumbled upon by photojournalist Susan Goldman. She refuses to leave him and bandages his wounds. Cray then has her set up booby traps around the building. Later that night, he gives her his lighter, and she uses it fend off Soviet scouts with Molotov cocktails. Afterward, Susan returns to the room Cray was hiding in, but he is gone.

Synopsis for "Purgatory Max: #101370"
Convicted as a cop killer, Evo arrives at the Purgatory Max prison in Antarctica to be incarcerated. Guards take him to his cell, and he meets his cellmate, Gray Gallows a.k.a. the Hangman. The guards gather the prisoners for breakfast and force them to fight over food dropped from above. Evo battles mafia assassin Blacktooth. He is about to lose when Hangman intervenes and beats up Blacktooth. As he eats, Evo overhears other prisoners discussing the pending release of Baron Todt after 20 years of solitary confinement. They see Evo and tell him to keep his mouth shut. The next day, the prisoners learn security is being tightened. They assume Evo informed the guards so they ambush him in the showers.
