Fawcett Publications

Fawcett Publications was a magazine publishing firm, which dominated the pulp era of storytelling during the 1930s and 40s. DC Comics (then known as National Periodical Publications) purchased many of Fawcett's surviving super-hero characters including, Captain Marvel, Mary Marvel, Ibis the Invincible, Spy Smasher, Captain Marvel, Jr and several others.

Federal Bureau of Investigation

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is the primary investigative arm of the United States Department of Justice, serving as both a federal criminal investigative body and a domestic intelligence agency. The FBI has investigative jurisdiction over violations of more than 200 categories of federal crimes. They often work in tandem with other U.S. law enforcement agencies such as the Department of Extranormal Operations and the Central Bureau of Investigation. Notable F.B.I. agents include Jeffrey Graves and Saffron Bell.

Fever

This was the name of a high-grade street narcotic popular amongst Gotham City's underworld. The criminal gang known as the Street Demonz monopolized the Fever market for a brief period of time.

Fifth-Week Event

A fifth week event is a novelty comic book promotion. Comic publishers schedule releases in four-week cycles. On an occasion that a month has more than four weeks, publishers often sell unusual comics to fill in the scheduling gap. The first of such "fifth-week" projects was the quarterly title Superman: The Man of Tomorrow.

Filmation Associates

Filmation Associates was an American production company that produced animation for television during the later half of the 20th century. Located in Reseda, California, the animation studio was founded in 1963. During a period lasting from the 1960s through the 1980s, the only real competitors to Hanna-Barbera Productions in the field of TV cartoons were Filmation and DePatie-Freleng Enterprises. Filmation's founders and principal producers were Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott.

Five Warriors from Forever

This was an informal name attributed to five adventurers from different time periods, forced to work together to battle the Lord of Time. The Five warriors consisted of: The Black Pirate, Enemy Ace, Jonah Hex, Miss Liberty and the Viking Prince.

Flame Beast

A Flame Beast was a large mouse-like animal capable of setting itself on fire. This species was indiginous to Krypton of Pre-Crisis continuity.

Flamebird

In Pre-Crisis continuity, a Flamebird was an avian animal native to the planet, Krypton. Kandorian Ak-Var adopted a super-hero identity and named himself after this bird. In Post-Crisis continuity, the Flamebird was a mythical creature, half-phoenix, half-dragon. The flamebird was considered a sentinel of Rao and bestowed visions to people via telepathy.

Flower of Wrath

The Flower of Wrath was an ancient Martian torture device. One of these devices was located in the old colony citadel known as Z'onn Z'orr. When a group of White Martians calling themselves the Hyperclan battled the JLA, they imprisoned them inside the Flower of Wrath and subjected them to unspeakable torture.

Flying Newsroom

The Flying Newsroom was the name of the Daily Planet press helicopter on Earth-One. Piloted by Jumbo Jones, the Flying Newsroom was always ready to transport eager reporters to a breaking news story. In later years, the Newsroom was piloted by a woman named Barbara.

Frag

Frag is a word used by various intergalactic cultures. Employed as either a working verb or an adjective, it is often looked upon as a form of profanity. Examples of use would include: "Go frag yourself!", or "I'm going to frag every fraggin' last one of you!".

Frost Giant

A frost giant is a creature of myth, whose origins may have stemmed from any number of ancient cultures as part of their folklore. Most Frost Giants can be found existing within the interdimensional realm of Asgard or in the "Inner-Earth" reality of Skartaris.

Furries

Furries is the informal name used by scientists of Project Moreau to describe an artificially evolved species of higher order animals. These Furries occupied their own sanctuary island known as the Wild Lands.
