In the DC Universe, God, also known as The Presence, The Voice, The Hand, and The Source, is the creator of the Multiverse and all the living beings, like; Humans, Angels, and Djinns. His first living creations were the archangels the First of the Fallen, Samael and Michael. When the First of the Fallen came to believe that God was wrong, he created a rebellion in Heaven and God banished him to Hell. The first became Satan and was the first of many others who would fall, like the Elias of the Djinns, and Samael, who also rebelled and was cast out to Hell and became its ruler as "Lucifer Morningstar".

As the Source, God also became bonded to a being known as the Mother Entity, that was later tapped into the Mother Boxes as energy of the Fourth World. God also created Adam and Lilith, the first two human beings, and made them inhabit the Garden of Eden, but when Lilith rebelled, he banished her and created Eve instead. God was also responsible for the creation of Jesus of Nazareth, the Council of Eternity, and the Spectre, which is the physical embodiment of God's vengeance on Earth, whose existence is in response to the failure of Eclipso, the spirit of God's wrath that turned completely malevolent and evil. Other characters who have claimed to be God are Red Jack and Wally the God-Boy

God was adapted by Jerry Siegel and Bernard Baily, first appearing in More Fun Comics #52 (1940).
