History

One of the most notorious criminals in Gotham was once a psychology professor at the Gotham U. He was Jonathan Crane, who was sacked from the institution after he employed ruthless methods to teach about the psychology of fear.[1]

The G.U. was later target of a vicious attack by former professor Vilmer, who sought revenge against the institution and the headmaster for his sacking after unethical experiments. The institution was saved by the timely intervention of Batman and Robin.[2] Much later, the laboratories of Gotham University were used as a trap to capture The Pi-Meson Man.[3]

After several inmates from Arkham Asylum were released, Scarecrow used a large group of students at the Gotham University as his test subjects and using one of the building's classrooms, he transformed them into his minions. With a small army at his command, Scarecrow killed one student before leaving the place.[4]
