Synopsis for "Being Human"

After Abin Sur's death and the election of his successor, Sinestro and Tomar-Re scan Hal Jordan's memories and discuss his quality as ring-bearer. True to his opinion about humans being primitive and violent, Sinestro claims Jordan is reckless, insubordinate, unable to work in a team, and a coward. Still, Tomar Re defends Hal Jordan after seeing him protect a woman from his superior officer in the military. Still unconvinced by this "heroic act," Sinestro orders the ring to tell him if there are other candidates on Earth to join the Green Lantern Corps, and the scan reveals another subject: a football player named Guy Gardner. Sinestro replays the memory of the death of Hal Jordan's father. Unwilling to accept the new candidate, Sinestro wrongly accuses Hal of being full of fear, making him useless to deal with Parallax. Sinestro leaves, leaving Tomar-Re to ponder on Hal Jordan's potential.
