Quote1 I was judging Dalor by my own standards, by Earth standards. And a Green Lantern who travels galaxies can't afford to be so narrow in his thinking! There are a lot of different life-styles out there, and I'll have to accept all of them, without judging or condemning them! Quote2

Synopsis for "With This Ring, I Thee Judge"

Hal Jordan presents his charges against Dalor to the Guardians. In response, the Guardians condemn Dalor to a Ritual of Endurance, which if he succeeds and survives, he'll be free of charges. This strikes Hal Jordan, because it seems like a primitive way for them to operate. Dalor enters the room for the test, and Hal watches as he makes his way through antimatter and yellow blasts. However, the Guardians task him with going to Dalor's home planet, Timron, and convey the news to his wife and child.

Upon arrival, Hal discovers that all the inhabitants of Timron show gratitude for others' good deeds with gold, be it for receiving a present, having a good time, getting married, or helping someone cross the street. It's the natural way of life, and Dalor was just following his customs. Thus, Hal realizes that he committed a misted by accusing him, so he rushes back to Oa.

There, Hal breaks through the walls and enters the test room, rescuing the weakened and endangered Dalor. Hal's ring starts to flash intermittently, a sign that he is running out of power. So he uses his last energies to take Dalor out of the field. From the other side of the room, Dalor returns the favor and rescues Hal. With their debts fulfilled, both Green Lanterns show their gratitude, and Dalor returns to his planet. After he leaves, Hal reveals that he just faked running out of power to see if Dalor would rescue him. The Guardians congratulate Hal Jordan for learning a valuable lesson: to see other life-styles in the universe and to not judge them by Earth standards.

Synopsis for "Bxyl Tjyl's Pan-Galactian Traveling Circus & Side Show"

Green Lantern Tuebeen works undercover at a circus to figure out who is kidnapping the performers. One evening, during a show, a man wearing a jet pack flies over the presentation and shoots at some clowns, making them disappear. Tuebeen follows the apparent murderer to another planet, where he finds out the clowns weren't executed, just teleported. The man presents himself as Tvillon Quartudo, and explains that he only wanted the circus to come to his planet and bring joy to his poor people, something they couldn't afford. Tuebeen accepts Tvillon explanation, even though his methods were admittedly unorthodox, and he joins the clowns on a show to bring joy to his people.
