Green Lantern (Volume 2) #175 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 2) with a cover date of April, 1984.
Synopsis for "Shark Bait!"
Congressman Jason Bloch is furious that Green Lantern has thwarted his latest plan to destroy Ferris Aircraft when he is visited by Mr. Smith who comes on behalf of Intercontinental Petroleum. He is there to persuade Bloch to cease or at least suspend his vendetta until Con-Trol (as the company is called) can conclude their business. Bloch refuses and secretly reviews his file that Green Lantern is Hal Jordan.
Hal and Carol have breakfast when Hal reads about Flash's recent legal problems in the newspaper. He decides to visit Flash and encounters Flash in mid-battle with the Rainbow Raider. GL intervenes and the two capture the criminal. They then talk privately about the killing of Reverse Flash, and Hal offers Barry his help and support on the matter.
The Shark is traveling the streets of Coast City absorbing the minds of innocent people. When Dr. Clay Kendall experiments with his Psi-Chair hoping to tap into his mind's potential, he briefly makes mental contact with the Shark. The Shark wonders if he should seek out this mind but opts instead to attack the local S.T.A.R. Labs as it was their atomic radiation that forced the Shark's original form to undergo the massive evolution to his current state. GL enters the building and the two fight which ends up on the street with the Shark gaining the upper hand and absorbing GL's mind, leaving him unconscious on the ground. The SWAT team open fire on the Shark but he flees when his mind begins to burn.

Trivia
- A page-a-day calendar indicates this story takes place on January 19, 1984 which would be a Thursday. Several issues/other comics can be directly tied to these events to the extent that their dates can also be determined. For example: This issue (as well as the next two) all occur on the same calendar day as does The Flash #332 which has a mutual cross-over moment with this issue. The events of the previous issue (Green Lantern #174) occurred on Wednesday, January 18th as they are depicted in the headline of the morning newspaper. Likewise the events of Green Lantern #178 through #180 occur on the very next day (Friday, January 20th). GL's visit to the alien planet documented therein occurs simultaneous to a Justice League of America/Justice Society of America cross-over as seen in Justice League of America #231 through #232 which itself occurred simultaneously with the Earth-Mars War (documented in JLoA #228 through #230 which resulted in the formation of Justice League Detroit in JLoA Annual #2.
