Synopsis for "Menace of the Atomic Changeling!"
Just arriving at Carol Ferris' home for a date, Hal is suddenly changed into his Green Lantern costume and pulled into space. He is contacted by Tomar-Re who has contacted him for help in desetroying an changling creature powered by atomic energy that was accidentally unleashed by the archeologist Ixnal on Tomar's home planet.
With the creature now on Earth, Tomar and Hal team up to stop the creature, after a number of unsuccesful attempts at stopping it, the two find a way: By trapping it mid-transformation. With the creature trapped in a green sphere, Hal turns it over to Tomar-Re to take back to his home planet for confinement.

Synopsis for "The Elixer of Invulnerability!"
After winning a company raffel, Hal gets a surprise vacation. While out on the island of Ohau, Hal relaxes by scuba diving where he explores a sunken ship and finds a hidden cash of sunken treasure. However, Hal is attacked by a group of undersea bandits who steal the gold, Hal has an alergic reaction to his power ring and has to be taken to the hospital.
Removing the substance that is reacting to him, Hal dawns his power ring and searches for the gold theives as Green Lantern. Hal end's up stumbling upon a plot by Keith Kenyon, a man who has been collecting gold to create weapons and also create an elixer that will make him invincible.
Because of the yellow color of gold, it naturally counter acts the effects of Green Lantern's power ring, making Kenyon believe that he is invincible. However, once Hal actually lands a punch and Kenyon feels it's blow he rushes to drink more of the elixer, however Hal knocks it over before delivering a knock out blow. With the crook defeated, and the last of his elixer destroyed, Hal can't help but wonder if Kenyon was truley invulnerable or if it was just his power rings inheirent weakness to yellow that helped foster the illusion.
