Green Lantern (Volume 2) #73 is an issue of the series Green Lantern (Volume 2) with a cover date of December, 1969.

Synopsis for "From Space Ye Came -- And to Space Ye Shall Return!"

After spending time in space, Green Lantern returns to Earth. He learns that his old friend "Pieface" is now the owner of a gas station chain. But simple life is quickly denied Hal Jordan as he is forced to fly off the coast to stop an exploding oil rig.

Shortly afterwards, Green Lantern reunites with Carol Ferris. He scoops her up and brings her back to her apartment. Carol tells Hal that she has broken off her recent engagement with Jason Belmore. She doesn't tell Hal that Jason left her with a sapphire gem as a gift.

Hal is forced to return to deal with the exploding oil rig again. He creates giant acorn shells and scoops up all of the oil spillage.

As he returns to the city, he finds people racing to flee from amorphous ghosts trapped inside of a hotel. But this is merely a trap in which to bait Green Lantern. Hal disperses the ghostly apparitions only to find something even more disturbing. Carol Ferris has become Star Sapphire again.

Green Lantern and Star Sapphire battle, but Hal's will power is stronger than hers. As a last ditch effort to defeat her enemy, Star Sapphire transports Hal into outer space – robbed of all memory of ever being Green Lantern.
