Synopsis for "The Revenge Of The Renegade!"

While patrolling in space, Hal Jordan encounters Sinestro mining in an asteroid field. Hal faces his foe, but the battle stops when he sees an injured Green Lantern lying on an asteroid. Hal attends to his wounded comrade and takes him to safety, leaving Sinestro for later. Now alone, Sinestro continues to the second phase of his scheme. Later in a hospital, the wounded Green Lantern tells Hal that Sinestro was mining silver from the asteroids to use them in a trap for him on Earth. Hal rushes back to Earth, flying through a cosmic storm.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Oliver Queen receives an invitation to an archery contest in an Arabian city, along with a plane ticket. Now in the city of Shan, Green Arrow is baffled by the poverty of its people. He enters the Sultan's castle, and they lock him in a room that feels more like a jail cell than a suite. The maiden tries to warn him that the Sultan is a fake. She even sneaks a key inside his room, but Green Arrow rejects her help and decides to face the Sultan himself.

The following morning, Green Arrow attends the archery contest, and he wins against Abraxis, his opponent. But the Sultan dismisses his victory, saying he used trickery, and commands his men to restrain him. They cuff him and put Green Arrow on one side of a balance, with the other side full of silver ingots. The Sultan, who reveals himself as Sinestro, commands the impoverished people to grab one ingot each, making Green Arrow's side of the balance lower toward a pot of boiling oil. The maiden gives Ollie his bow and a special arrow, and, at the last moment, he shoots an arrow of his making that allows him to hang from the ceiling. Sinestro commands his men to fire at Green Arrow, but Green Lantern, who read about the archery contest and its silver prize in the newspaper, arrives just in time to save him. Together, they defeat Sinestro.
