Synopsis for "Away From Home, Part 2"
After the massive explosion on the planet of Tendax, Green Lantern will never forget the cries of a woman who had just lost her child. Of course, Minister Illis accuses the rival sect of the Magdum for being the culprits, but instead it is a rogue group called Matiac which seems responsible for the bombing. Illis explains that the Matiac actually belong to his people and are part of an experiment which went wrong about 20 years ago. The Matiac are led by Lord Stacre who once has been the best friend of Illis. The Minister wants Green Lantern and Jade to confront the Matiac with lethal force if necessary. Kyle refuses to kill anybody though.
Kyle and Jade need several hours until they find Lord Stacre and his group of mutated comrades. A fight is inevitable and Jade quickly is astonished how easily her boyfriend controls the immense power at his disposal. But then Kyle accidentally kills Lord Stacre although his intentions initially were to stop him from killing himself. Listening to Stacre's last words, Kyle understands that his death will not end the war. And after word reaches him and Jade that Minister Illis and his family have been shot, Kyle decides that they will leave the planet because they neither cannot take sides in this conflict nor can they hope to bring peace for Tendax ...
