Synopsis for "Assault & Battery"

After Kyle's ring runs out of power, he receives a beating from Major Force, who interrogates the defeated Green Lantern about the origin of the glowing red rock. Suddenly, the stone turns into a power battery, recharging Kyle's power. Kyle defeats Major Force and interrogates him, but the L.A. Special Crimes Unit arrives and takes the murderer into custody, stopping Kyle from torturing him.

Kyle leaves the scene to his apartment, where he can be alone to mourn for Alex. However, the Green Lantern Alan Scott shows up before him, and Kyle mistakenly assumes he's working with Major Force. Alan subdues Kyle and gets him to listen to the story of his predecessor, Hal Jordan, the Green Lantern Corps, and their fall. Alan finishes, saying that Hal Jordan will eventually have to be stopped, and Kyle will be a part of it.

The following day, Kyle starts to cope with his loss and decides to continue his life as Green Lantern in Alex's memory.
