Synopsis for "Torture"
Kyle Rayner sits in front of his drawing board and is full of regret after he and Donna Troy split up. Kyle's new roommate Jade tries to explain to him that Donna needs to cope with the death of her son alone. Heavy-hearted Kyle leaves his apartment to visit John Stewart. Kyle designed a logo for John's newly founded architecture firm. John and Kyle talk about Donna, Kyle's mother and also about the green energy beam John emitted when Green Lantern was fighting Fatality. John thinks that it was just residual energy left in his body after Hal Jordan healed him.
Shortly after leaving John's place, Kyle gets attacked by a horde of heavily-armed alien like creatures. He transforms into Green Lantern, but because of a sudden power blackout of his ring, Kyle gets defeated and awakes in the torture chamber of the evil Desaad. The personal inquisitor of Darkseid wants to learn more about Green Lantern's powers and, thus, conducts all kinds of painful experiments with Kyle. At first it seems as if Kyle will never have a chance to flee with his ring being powerless. But as Desaad puts a strange looking key into a lock, Green Lantern's powers return and he is able to get away. Desaad is by no means disappointed though ...
