Synopsis for "Giant in the Golden Mask!"
A colleague of Carter Hall brings a mask that was found on Mount Olympus that is fabled to have been created by Vulcan himself. However, the mask soon takes control of Paul and attacks Cater before making an escape. Carter is later revived by Shiera and both go after the mask as Hawkman and Hawkgirl.
They find that it's taken Paul back to Greece, where archeologists have uncovered a giant metal statue. The mask has come seeking this body out, and despite opposition from Hawkman and Hawkgirl, succeeds in doing so. The giant statue then comes to life and begins terrorizing a small town.
Hawkman and Hawkgirl (with Paul's help) deduce that the case in which the mask was found neutralizes the masks power. They use it to subdue the mask and remove it from the giant body. Afterwards it's brought back to Midway Museum where Paul reveals the mask once a day for a minute so that the public can enjoy the mask, and that it may not risk taking control of anyone again.

Synopsis for "Battle of the Bird-Man Bandits!"
When Hawkgirl goes to the Thanagarian ship to clean it, she is suddenly knocked out by a mysterious attacker. Hawkman meanwhile, investigates reports of strange winged men who attack him and steal his wings. Using his gravity device to flat up to the ship, he finds a female "harpy" tossing Hawkgirl from the ship, forcing him to go after her and save her.
The two then "recall" (having gained this knowledge through their Absorbascon giving them instant recall of any memory on Earth) that these alien beings crash landed on Earth and are members of the Kalvars race. Stranded on Earth, they went into a state of suspended animation until they could find a means to either repair their ship or find another one to take them home.
Realizing that their intent is to steal Hawkman and Hawkgirl's ship and use it to flee the Earth, the two heroes get their spare wings and track down the Kalvar ship. They then repair it and use it to track down their own ship in space. There they immobilize it and force the Kalvars to surrender their ship back. Realizing that these creatures are too powerful to imprison on Earth, they decide to take them to Thanagar to face justice there.
