Synopsis for "Godspawn: Part 2 - Enter Bad Blood"

At the behest of his mother, Naomi Carter, Katar Hol has gone to find former medicine man, Dennis Baintan, only to find himself under fire from a sniper. When he takes down the sniper, it is revealed to be the Thanagarian Thal Porvis (New Earth). Porvis reports that Thanagar has been assaulted by a hawk-like entity. The entity started with the Wingmen, infecting them with madness. With the Wingmen out of the way, the entity was able to destroy the anti-gravity systems of the Thanagarian cities, causing many to fall from the sky. Now he claims the entity has begun to infect the populace with madness. Porvis blames Hol.

Hol, unsure what to make of Porvis’ mad claims, begins to discuss native mysticism with Baintan, only to find that Baintan has rejected the old ways in favor of science. Hol tells him not to put too much faith in technology. He comes from a society that did just that and it led to a corrupt caste system. Soon, they are attacked by a member of the Bad Blood Gang who throws a brick with a message: The gang has FerAlyce.

Later, Hol shakes down an informant and learns that FerAlyce’s blood holds the cure to the plague affecting metahumans in Chicago. Hol goes to confront the gang and its leader, Bad Blood, who intends to sell FerAlyce and the cure in her blood to the highest bidder. Hol is able to effectively combat the gang until he begins to have visions of a terrible hawk-like entity. Eventually, he is able to overcome the visions and defeat the gang. He liberates FerAlyce and takes her away to receive medical attention for the mistreatment she suffered at the hands of the gang.
