Synopsis for "Images"

Both Katar and Shayera go after a few gang members who responsible for a drive by shooting. Katar gets ahead of the vehicle and plays chicken with the gang members. The driver panics and swerve right into a light post. Katar and Shayera make quick work of the gang members but the police weren't too grateful for their assistance. One police officer scolded Shayera more than he did Katar but reckless use of force and endangering bystanders when the car swerved.

Both Katar and Shayera are called into Joe Tracy's office. Tracy has few ideas that can boost the PR for the Thanagarians. Tracy informs them that Mavis' Thanagarian exhibit has been reopened with a huge turnout which leads him to his next strategy. Tracy introduces the Thangarians to Rodney Hawkins, Head of Marketing at the Sunderland Corporation. Rodney proposes that if the Thanagarians change their look then the majority of people will reconsider their image and stay on Earth.

Rodney recommends that their battle armor be altered with brighter colors which would make the Thanagarians more appealing to the public. He surmises that their new line of apparel could generate mainstream merchandise. Katar is taken back by the alterations because he explains that their battle armor isn't a costume, it's a functional and practical uniform in the line of duty. Shayera is upset by Rodney's ideas because her clothes line is very revealing and promiscuous.

Shayera and Katar report back to Darl's office. Shayera has been asked by the High Mor to accompany an Earth Trade delegation back to Thanagar while Katar remains on Earth. Darl explains that this decision was based on the public's ongoing ill will towards Shayera but she is also being entrusted with Byth's transport back to Thanagar. Shayera will act as a liaison for several profitable enterprises that want to conduct business with Thanagar.

Shayera and Katar load Byth onto the trade delegation shuttle. Shayera is tempted to cut the oxygen supply to Byth's stasis chamber and end him but Katar convinces her to refrain from bringing anymore scrutiny to her honor as a Wingman. Shayera bids farewell to Katar and Katar heads back to his apartment building where he bumps into Cartwright. Katar informs Cartwright that since a Thanagarian consulate is being established, he intends to buy the apartment building so that Anne and her son Micah can stay. Cartwright brushes off Katar's ultimatum because Katar will need the approval of all the other tenants before such a sale can go through.

At the crown city of Thalrassa on Thanagar, Administrator Purvis Thal meets with Chief Andar Pul. Administrator Thal is upset that his ex-wife Hyanthis wants to see her daughter Shayera. Shayera and the trade delegation arrive on Thanagar. They are met by Kanjar Ro, the newly appointed adjutant for Earth affairs on Thanagar. Kanjar's original title was administrator of alien affairs. Shayera wonders why so many other Wingmen are wearing her armor which is only appointed to very few decorated officers.

Kanjar explains Chief Pul has established an elite task force called the Hawkmen. Kanjar Ro also informs Shayera that Chief Pul requires her presence as soon as she arrives. Shayera walks off because of the bureaucracy that has plagued Thanagar in recent months. Shayera heads to her old apartment where she meets Hyanthis. Hyanthis informs Shayera that she is Shayera's grandmother.
