The Holliday Girls were a pseudo-sorority that worked out of Holliday College on Earth-Two during the early 1940s.

History

The most famous of the Holliday Girls was their leader, the plucky Etta Candy. In the early winter of 1942, Etta and her friends met the Amazon super-hero Wonder Woman when she asked Etta to gather one-hundred young women to cause a distraction and help attack a bed of Axis spies in time to save Steve Trevor from Doctor Poison. Wonder Woman then recruited the Holliday Girls to help her round up the ring of Nazi spies that had been working in the Washington, D.C. area. Etta personally assisted Wonder Woman in stopping the Nazi ring leader Doctor Poison.[1] They became great supporters of Wonder Woman's acts of heroism, and helped her out on many adventurers.

The Holliday Girls gained a reputation for hunting Axis spies during the war and while their foes trades whispers about a group of women acting as spies for Gen Darnell of the USAAF they had a hard time identifying them before the gals had already dropped their cover.[2] The Holiday Girls used an Amazonian Mental Radio, a device with which they could telepathically communicate with Wonder Woman in times of need. When Wonder Woman was abducted by the Austrian Nazi Baroness Paula von Gunther, the Holliday Girls teamed up with Steve Trevor to track them down and rescue her. They again aided Wonder Woman in helping her to expose a Nazi ring responsible for sabotaging a new Navy submarine the Octopus.[3] The Holliday Girls' exploits brought them into conflict with Paula von Gunther on at least three more occasions. They helped to rescue Wonder Woman after she had been captured and bound by the God of War, Mars.[4] In 1943, Etta Candy was engaged to marry a Hungarian Prince named Hylo Goulash. Before long however, the Holliday Girls and she discovered that Goulash was actually a Nazi agent named Karl Schultz. Schultz had captured Steve Trevor and the Holliday Girls seduced Schultz' men in order to rescue Steve.[5]

After the war ended the Holliday Girls did not disband and continued aiding their friend Wonder Woman and the USAAF, most notably in thwarting the attempted invasion of earth by the Emperor of Saturn. As the girls graduated college many went into scientific research or government jobs.
