Having faked his own death, Andrew Bennett wanders the roads of Kansas feeding on farm animals. He begins to realize that he's losing his taste for animals, and will soon require human blood. Finally he visits the home of the man he switched places with in the burning wreckage. Matt Kitner's widow June takes him in as a boarder for extra money. The family grows attached to him, until her son Teddy is killed in an attempt on Bennett. Realizing he's brought more death to the people he cares about, Bennett breaks down in the cemetery. The Cult of the Blood Red Moon catches up to him, and June Kitner is murdered helping him escape. Having caused the deaths of an entire innocent family, he wanders sadly into the night.

Notes

  • This cover is very misleading. Andrew Bennett does not fight an evil circus. He does visit a rather pleasant carnival, but they don't try to kill him even a little bit. Instead he fights some other totally unrelated guys.
