Inkling was a jewel thief who only spoke in rhyme. Superman went after him, but he escaped in time.

A young homeless man named Chip was coerced with promises of drugs by Burton Thompson of S.T.A.R. Labs. Placing Chip in a glass and metal tube, they attempted to activate his metagene. An explosion during the process drove Chip insane and scarred him horribly. He took the name Inkling, from the last word he heard before the explosion.[1] He escaped STAR through unrevealed means, and became a rhyming jewel thief. He ran from Superman and was able to phase to escape him, but lost his haul. Later, he harassed a group of construction workers. [2] Some time later, Superman and Slam Bradley captured Inkling, and turned him over to Thompson and S.T.A.R.[1]
