Personal History of Irwin Hasen is unknown.

Professional History

Hasen worked for various comic companies during the Golden Age, including DC, Marvel, Centaur, Archie, and Holyoke. [1]

He co-created Wildcat with Bill Finger in Sensation Comics #1, January 1942.

Hasen, an active member of the National Cartoonists Society, met Gus Edson while on a tour of Germany and together they created the Dondi comic strip in 1954, with Edson writing and Hasen drawing.[2]

Hasen died at age 96 on March 13, 2015. He was reportedly DC's last surviving artist from the years of World War II. [3]
