History

The Isis Foundation was a volunteer focus group established by Lana Lang to help residents of Smallville who had been infected by Kryptonite radiation. She financed the foundation using funds appropriated from her ex-husband Lex Luthor. Lana kept her activities secret for several months, but before long, her friends Chloe Sullivan and Clark Kent learned about the foundation's existence.

Following several harrowing incidents involving her former husband and Clark Kent, Lana elected to leave Smallville. She left the Isis Foundation in the care of Chloe Sullivan. Chloe, having just been fired from her position at the Daily Planet, threw herself into her work and amassed a small group of teenagers who all had trouble dealing with the affects of meteor rock infection. Chloe's work with the foundation caused tension between herself and Clark, notably when Clark used his powers to determine the names of the people within her group – people whom Clark believed suspected were responsible for a massacre at a Metropolis nightclub. Clark’s concerns bore fruit, as one of Chloe's charges, a boy named Randy began using his shadow manipulation abilities to commit murder. [1]
