Ixion is a giant creature that was imprisoned in the Great Wheel by Hermes for eternity to pay for his crimes against humanity.

Eons ago, Hermes imprisoned the mass murderer Ixion, King of Thessaly, in Tartarus for his crimes, chaining him to a giant wheel. However, when the Gods of Olympus performed their "Great Migration", the god of fear Phobos took the opportunity to free Ixion from Tartarus. Alongside Euryale, Phobos staged a trap for Hermes which led to him stealing the Caduceus, Hermes's mythical weapon, and destroying the chains that kept Ixion bound to the Great Wheel.[1]

Restored to his full power, Ixion began to rampage throughout the streets of Boston with Hermes in his grip. Hermes tried to reason with Ixion, begging him to leave the innocent civilians alone, but Ixion ignored his cries and killed as many people as he could. Wonder Woman, who had been away at the time, returned and battled the beast. She threw him to Martha's Vineyard in hopes of avoiding anymore casualties. The battle continued until Wonder Woman beat him into submission. Ixion demanded she kill him instead of returning him to his imprisonment. Soon, several fighter jets appeared and prepared to blast Ixion. Wonder Woman, not wishing anymore death, was about to stop them until Hermes interceded. The pair watched as Ixion ran toward the jets to his death and the end of his suffering.[2]
