Professional History

J.K. Simmons is one of the most prominent and recognizable character actors of his generation, with over two hundred credits to his name in film, television, and gaming. He has too many iconic roles to count, with some of the most notable being J. Jonah Jameson in the Spider-Man movies, Ford Pines on Gravity Falls, Tenzin on The Legend of Korra, Terence Fletcher in Whiplash, and Omni-Man on Invincible.

Simmons has taken a few roles in DC Comics properties over the years, with the first and perhaps most notable being General Eiling on the animated series Justice League Unlimited. He later returned to voice Evil Star on Batman: The Brave and the Bold, as well as Commissioner Gordon in Justice League, and by proxy its director's cut, Zack Snyder's Justice League.

Simmons was set to reprise his role as Commissioner Gordon in the film Batgirl. He filmed all his scenes, and the film was meant to release in 2022, but a few months before release, the project was permanently shelved by Warner Bros. for a tax write-off, despite being in post-production when it was cancelled.
