Synopsis for "Injustice Be Done! (Part I of V) - Divide and Conquer"

Across the United States, ordianry people are being killed by a gale force once human. The killings seem to be occurring without rhyme or reason, but every three minutes, someone dies.

In Manhattan, Doctor Mid-Nite and Black Canary are having a dinner date in their civilian identities, when they are suddenly attacked by Count Vertigo. In SoHo, Sand and Wildcat are seeing "Raging Bull", when they are ambushed by Geomancer and Killer Wasp.

At JSA headquarters, the news of the super-speed killer is being discussed. Apparently, the killings, when placed on a map, spell out "CLARIS". Flash immediately realises who it is - Edward Clariss, alias the Rival. 50 years ago, he duplicated Flash's powers and ran into the Speed Force. To complete his name, he must kill someone in a certain area of Keystone City - and Flash's house is in the middle. Flash immediately leaves to save his wife.

As Sand tries to cal for help, the building's communications cuts out. The source reveals itself as an artificial intelligence based on the mind of Injustice Society founder the Thinker. Icicle, Tigress and Shiv enter the room and open fire on the heroes. Sentinel tries to stop them, but they use a shard of Blackbriar Thorn to stab him in the chest, fatally wouding him. The Thinker activates the whole security network; nothing will get in or out.

Thinkng fast, Mister Terrific orders Hawkgirl and Star-Spangled Kid make a run for it while he carries Sentinel into the infirmary and activates the firewall that locks out the Thinker. However, Icicle begins using his cryokinesis powers to freeze the room.

In Keystone City, the Rival is seconds away from killing Joan Garrick before the Flash manages to knock him off course. Clariss reveals that he blames the Flash for his time trapped in the Speed Force.

Across New York, the Justice Society fights back against their foes. However, Wildcat's fate starts to look grim when Black Adam arrives.

In the home of Louis Sendak, a man in a mask has an evil plan. His name is Johnny Sorrow, and before he is finished, everyone on Earth will be dead...
