History
Jack Gold was a down-on-his-luck reporter who worked for a tabloid known as the National Chronicle. Alcoholism and a bad attitude cost him his career at more prestigious newspapers, as well as his marriage to his wife, Annie. Jack was assigned to interview a mysterious man known as Baron Winters and Winters recruited to work for him as part of his "Night Force". Winter had Jack steal classified documents from the Pentagon relating to parapsychological study and through them, he learned about a woman named Vanessa van Helsing. Vanessa had been locked up inside the Potomac Psychiatric Hospital for seven years and a keen perception of occult forces.
