HistoryEdit

James Rice was the adoptive father of Todd Rice, and married to Shirley Rice. He was an abusive alcoholic. Years after leaving home, Todd returned as Obsidian and mentally tortured Rice while under the control of Ian Karkull. Rice was rescued from Obsidian's clutches by the JSA, but later attacked Obsidian in order to stop him from killing his real father, Alan Scott. Rice disappeared into a shadow dimension with Obsidian. He has not as yet returned.
