Joe Bennett (b. February 3, 1968) is a Brazilian comic book artist.

Professional History

He began his career working for Brazilian Comic Publishers until 1992, when he started working in the American Comic Book Industry. His first work was for the publisher Innovation on the title Terry Pratchett's The Light Fantastic. After this, he was hired by Now Comics, Continuity Comics, Marvel Comics where he debuted on the title Ravage; Image Comics where he debuted on the title Supreme and Dark Horse Comics, debuting on the title Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He also worked for Vertigo on the title Sandman Presents and CrossGen Comics. His first work for DC Comics was in 2003 on the title Birds of Prey: Secret Files and Origins and later on he worked on titles like Hawkman (Volume 4) and Robin (Volume 2) among others. In the New 52, he worked on Savage Hawkman (Volume 1), Deathstroke (Volume 2) and The Terrifics (Volume 1).

In 2021, he was let go from Marvel's The Immortal Hulk after a long history of anti-Semitic, transphobic and violent political tweets and imagery caused conflict between him and writer Al Ewing. He is reportedly blacklisted by Marvel and has not been hired by DC since.
