Johnny Thunder is a Golden Age super-hero who fights crime with the help of Thunderbolt. His Thunderbolt is Yz, a magical being from the 5th Dimension who grants his wishes. Despite his blundering demeanor, he was born one of the luckiest men on the planet. He has been a member of the All-Star Squadron and the Justice Society of America.
Johnny Thunder was created by John B. Wentworth and Stan Aschmeier, first appearing in Flash Comics #1 (1940).
Johnny Thunder was also the secret identity of John Tane, an unrelated Western hero created by Robert Kanigher and Alex Toth, who first appeared in All-American Comics #100 (1948).
