• The events from this issue take place in May of 1863.
• Historically, Civil War General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was accidentally shot and killed by friendly fire. The shooter has never been identified. DC Comics asserts that Jonah Hex was the cavalry soldier responsible for Jackson's death.
