History
Jonathan Kent (1961-2006) was a hard-working farmer who grew up in the town of Smallville, Kansas.Powers and Abilities
Powers
Traditionally, Jonathan Kent does not possess any superhuman capabilities.
However, there has been one account where he inherited temporary powers in order to rein in his son, Clark, who had been suffering from the negative effects of Red Kryptonite. Jonathan made a deal with Jor-El wherein the Kryptonian spirit bequeathed the power necessary to stop his son. By all accounts, it appears as if Jonathan developed all of the same superhuman abilities as Clark, however he only demonstrated the use of Superhuman strength, Superhuman durability and Super-speed. Presumably, he also acquired Clark's other powers such as Heat Vision and Flight, though Jonathan never used them. Jonathan and Clark fought one another, during which time he manipulated Clark into destroying the red Kryptonite ring responsible for his rash behavior. When the ring was destroyed, Jonathan’s powers disappeared. [1]Abilities
Jonathan Kent was proficient in all skills related to farming. His strong sense of community endeared him to his fellow citizens and proved integral in helping him win the 2006 Kansas State senatorial election.Strength level
Jonathan Kent possessed the strength level of a man his age, size and weight who engaged in intensive regular exercise.Weaknesses
After making a deal with Jor-El in the hopes of bringing his wayward son home, Jonathan developed a serious heart condition. His heart eventually gave out after a spirited conversation with Lionel Luthor.
