Jor-El, of the House of El, was a Kryptonian scientist who predicted the death of the planet Krypton. His research was dismissed by his peers, and he was only able to save one person: his son, Kal-El, who was rocketed away from Krypton shortly before it exploded to Earth, where he would grow up to become Superman. Jor-El is married to Lara Lor-Van. |
