The Enemy Below, Part II is an episode of season 1 of Justice League. It premiered on December 10, 2001.

Synopsis for "The Enemy Below, Part II"

The Justice League heads to Atlantis to warn Aquaman, but only to be attacked and captured by Orm's forces. After bringing the League before him, Orm reveals his intentions to destroy the surface world and sentenced the League to death by drowning. Orm then took his infant nephew to Aquaman, who is chained to the side of a reef near the edge of a lava fissure. To ensure his succession, Orm have Aquaman and his son sent plummeting toward the lava before making his leave. However, Aquaman manages to free himself and his son but at the cost of losing his left hand.

The League, who are kept passive by headbands which prevents them from using their powers, are held in a chamber filling with water. Fortunately, Mera frees them after learning of Orm's insidious plot. They are then reunited with Aquaman and his son. Aquaman is soon refitted with a prosthetic harpoon. Batman contacts the League from the Batcave, alerting them that the temperature at the Arctic Circle is rising dramatically; if it continues, the ice caps will melt and causing a global flood. Aquaman knows what is happening: it is the Doomsday Thermal Reactor, a last-resort weapon he built in case of war against the surface. Now, Orm is using the reactor with stolen plutonium taken from the USS Defiant to arm the machine. Aquaman and the League travels to the Arctic Circle where the weapon is located and stopping Orm.

They are then joined by Batman in the Batwing before meeting Brak's forces head on. Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Batman bypass the Atlantean forces and find the reactor in a glacial cavern. Orm has already anticipated for their arrival and destroys the reactor's control panel from allowing to be tamper. Aquaman fights Orm while Batman and Green Lantern are forced to manually shut down the reactor from the inside. The fight between the Atlantean rulers seem to be in Orm's favor due to being armed with Aquaman's trident; however, the ice beneath them crumble in which Orm is left dangling over a ledge. Orm begs his brother to save him. Aquaman appears to about to help his brother, but instead he picks up his fallen trident. Orm loses his grip and falls to his death. The reactor is successfully shut down and the world is saved.

In the aftermath, Aquaman punished Brak and Orm's defeated followers for their treachery and reflects on his own fears on the surface that had nearly destroy his family and kingdom. The League assuaged Aquaman of his fears and becoming more resolved to continue seeking peace between the surface and Atlantis.
