Synopsis for "The Fiend with Five Faces"

An island rises out of the sea, bringing with it the menace of a five-faced god-like being, four of whose identities set forth to wreak havoc on Earth. These are the ancient gods of Oceania, who had merged into a single entity in order to survive the cataclysm that destroyed their home-land in a past age. Now they live again as individual controllers of men and natural forces. Alerted to this menace by Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern battle Tane, the Nature-god, while Batman, Atom, and Red Tornado, and Phantom Stranger investigate the temple where these gods first appeared. Superman battles Ku the War-god, and Black Canary and Elongated Man tangle with Bongo the Jester. Finally, Phantom Stranger and Red Tornado are able to free the captive fifth god, Tangora the Wise, who re-calls his brother deities and restores all to normal, returning the gods in their shared form to the depths of the sea.
