History

Korea was an Asian country. From 1910 to 1945, it was under Japanese rule. After World War II, it was split up along the 38th parallel. The Japanese surrendered the north part to the Soviet Union, and the south part to the Americans.

The two powers created two new countries: North Korea and South Korea. This only made things worse. Between 1950 and 1953, the two, as well as their "parent" nations, fought a war which ended in a truce. One of the more well-known soldiers to serve in Korea was Captain Phillip Hunter, a green beret and son of famed war hero Benjamin Hunter.
