Krypton was a planet populated by a race of super-strong, scientifically advanced humanoids who resemble homo sapiens in every outward appearance. It was destroyed decades ago, but not before a scientist named Jor-L was able to send his son to safety on Earth. That son would grow up to become the world's first super-hero, Superman.
