History
The Kryptonian Regeneration Matrix is Kryptonian technology designed to resurrect Kryptonians who have experienced discorporation. During Reign of the Supermen, it was used to revive Superman[1] after he was killed by Doomsday.[2] It was kept in the Fortress of Solitude.
Later, during Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds, Brainiac 5 used it to revive Superboy[3] after his death during Infinite Crisis.[4]
Notes
- A piece of DNA from the intended subject is required to operate the mechanism. When they were reviving Kon-El, the Legion of Super-Heroes had to send Dawnstar, Wildfire and Polar Boy back in time to obtain data from Lex Luthor as well as Superman, because he was cloned from their genetics put together.
