In the mid 80s to mid 90s, Hitchcock worked as an editor for Marvel, then Acclaim and then DC. After 20 years working for Disney, she became a freelance author of children's books. For the Random House lines Beginner Books and Little Golden Books, she has penned a number of books that tie into the DC franchise.
