Lex Luthor was a gifted scientist and frequent nemesis of Superboy.
History
Lex Luthor was originally a student at Shuster University in Seigelville, Florida. His high intellect, combined with amoral behavior, gave him a sense that the law did not apply to him. His only friend was named Leo, who participated in his schemes without question. Occasionally he could dupe other people, such as nerds into helping with a destructive laser, in exchange for women and money. Luthor's earlier scams revolved around money, such as stealing artifacts to sell on the black market or rigging a college basketball game as there were heavy bets on one team. Luthor was also the first to acquire the rare element known as Kryptonite, but lost it before seeing its full harm against Superboy.
