Richard Miller tries to run but cannot escape “El Maldicion”. Fortunately, Husam Al Nar's final attempt to kill Richard Miller for revenge is thwarted by Madame Xanadu! Unfortunatley Husam Al Nar is not real, and “El Maldicion” is a powerful Ifrit (Djinn)! Enter The Sandman to the rescue! Madame Xanadu contains the Ifrit's soul with a spell derived from a Kraken (and discovers's the Sandman's secret identity to boot!) Recalling back to 1493 when she lived in Spain, Madame Xanadu thinks about her lover Marisol. Returning home to find her gone, Madame Xanadu consults her Tarot Deck, which reveals calamity.
