Major Force is a nuclear-powered supervillain and evil counterpart to Captain Atom. In the U.S. Air Force he was given a life sentence for rape and murder, but agreed to dangerous genetic experimentation in exchange for a pardon. This was granted by Wade Eiling, who created him as part of Project Atom. Later on he became well-known as an enemy to Green Lantern when he murdered Kyle Rayner's girlfriend Alex DeWitt and stuffed her into a refrigerator. He has been a member of the Injustice League, the Quorum, and S.H.A.D.E.. Major Force Was created by Cary Bates, Greg Weisman and Pat Broderick, first appearing in Captain Atom (Volume 3) #12.
