Notes

Trivia
- In both the Golden and Silver age retellings of the story, the Waynes attend a showing of the film The Mark of Zorro. The Earth-Two Waynes view the 1921 version of the Mark of Zorro starring Douglas Fairbanks, whereas the Earth-One Waynes watch the 1940 version with Tyrone Power.
- Martha shares the same first name as Martha Kent, the mother of Batman's close confidante, Superman.
- The character of Martha Wayne made a brief cameo appearance in the 1989 Tim Burton film, Batman. Actress Sharon Holm contributed to the role where she is credited only as "Mrs. Wayne". In the movie, it is actually a young hoodlum named Jack Napier (the future Joker) who murders the Waynes, and not Joe Chill.
- Actress Sarah Stewart played the role of Martha Wayne in the 2005 Christopher Nolan film, Batman Begins. Her death is stylishly rendered showing a string of pearls falling from her neck in slow motion. This motif has also been utilized in the Frank Miller Batman: Year One story-arc as well as several dream sequences from Batman: The Animated Series.
