Max Allan Collins is a professional mystery writer. He has written for almost every single media in existence. His most notable contribution in the comic book industry was his short-lived run as writer of the title Batman, where he developed a new origin for the character Jason Todd. He also wrote the Dick Tracy newspaper comic strip from 1977 to 1992, as well as the novelization of the 1990 feature film and two original follow-up novels.
