You're doing a super-nice job pimping out the Fables pages but could you add the fully dressed covers when you go through. I noticed a lot of them just have the textless solicit covers. I'd really appreciate it. If you need help, send me a message. Thanks.
the only cover I added was the one I used for the Three Bears page. And I got that one from Comicvine. All the covers from the issues were already on the page before I got there.
Yea I did check, actually. Since it's a Vertigo character and different from the others, I figured he qualified for his own page. Sorry if it created confusion.
The point wasn't that you made a mistake in creating the page, it's that you could be extra helpful by adding the character you created to the disambig, just in case someone is looking for your version and ends up with Death instead of Death (hurr hurr). If you added it to Death, people would know the difference between the one Death and the other Death, and find the Death they want.
You don't need to select anything in the dropdown menu when uploading an image. If you go in later and manually add the template, that's good. Otherwise, it adds the template twice and the image ends up in needed categories when its actually filled out.
Hey Shawn. I was just thinking you should come in the chat some time. Most of the admins hang out in there. The best times are in the afternoons and after 8 or so in the evenings but there's often somebody in there other times too. Anyway, its a good place to talk about site projects and just talk about random other stuff.
Comp's been repaired and returned to me, Wikia is working correctly again, and I'm back to writing up pages as regularly/semi-regularly as before. Hooray!
I'd just like to let everyone know that my recent absence hasn't been by choice. My laptop has been in the shop for a few months now (grrrr!), and I just now got a temporary replacement. So I'm back, for now, unless this laptop decides to go kaput, too...
Funnily enough, the wiki sites don't seem to load on my desktop computer, so I've been unable to make any edits. I haven't figured out what the problem is, despite visiting many FAQs. Where's Oracle when you need her? Oh that's right, she doesn't do that anymore... *sigh*
Nice job on your recent edits on Brave and the Bold. I love it when people work on Golden and Silver Age stuff because there are so few editors on those eras. You're doing really good work. Thanks.
Hey Shawn. We haven't seen you around a whole lot lately and I just wanted to see how you're doing. I really enjoyed your edits on Adventure and Detective Comics a while back and wanted to see if there was anything we could do for you here. You did really nice work on those books and others. I hope everything is good for you and that you'll be back around more regularly.
Thank you for uploading new content to the DC Database project!
We have lots of images in our database, 88,932 in fact, and in order to keep them organized we use a system of naming, categories and licensing added to each.
Please review our Naming Conventions for Images. Images are categorized by name, so a descriptive name rather than a string of numbers is important.
As a guide, look what other images in a character's gallery are called, and continue with the same name and number. If you upload a first image of a character, use "[Name] [Universe] 001". Ignore the Universe designation if it is a New Earth character.
Issue covers should be given at least the title of the series, the volume and the number. A name similar to the issue is preferred: "Title Vol 1 1". Textless covers should be called "Title Vol 1 1 Textless". Files that do not indicate the issue number will be deleted.
Add the Image Template to the images you upload. This is mandatory. Fill it in as detailed here, or below.
Selecting the proper license is vital to properly maintaining our images. Please choose the license which best describes the image you are uploading. The most commonly used are 'Comic Single Panel' and 'Comic Cover', respectively.
Other fields that should be filled in: Issue, Subject1, Artist. Add Source if you've taken it from a different site. If you've taken it from a different site and don't know the issue, DO NOT UPLOAD IT.
In addition, please take a moment to review our policies page and more specifically our image policy.
Questions can be directed to any of our admins, or asked on our forums.
