  • You tagged the Horsewoman page for a move to Clytemnestra (Prime Earth), which has now happened. However, you did not cite a reason and it had been moved back to Horsewoman before. What's the source for the name? There's none on the page, and it even lists a different first name.

    Reply here.

    • I forgot to mention it on the talk page, but I also saw references on reviews here and there that show her using the name Sarah.

    • Is this about "mould?" I couldn't remember the procedure when it came to American English versus British/Austrailian/New Zealand English here. If it's an issue, I'll change it back.

I faintly remember a thread where you and Tupka discussed it, but I can't remember the outcome.

    • “Mould”, “-ise”, “mom”, “fanny”.

English outside of America is just called “English”. We have to put “American” in front of a lot words you tax-dodging, tea-haters have misinterpreted or bastardised; American English, American football, American hotdogs, American buffalo, etc.

I fully remember a thread were I asked for clarification. The verdict was that both fly provided it’s consistent within each article, editing the spelling alone is not accepted.

You have not broken any guidelines, just my good-natured temperament.

  • Hi Bobbie!

Could you do me a huge favour and add a quick description about Meena's and Barry's fight vs Dr. Carver on Meena Dhawan's page?

  • You're adding the image template to covers all wrong.

    • The source issue needs to go under "|Source=", not "|Issue=", to prevent superfluous categorization
    • No image subjects or universe, for the same reason. Subject1 = none
    • Artist credit should be those who worked on the cover, and all are listed as CoverArtist1, 2, etc. Letterers generally don't work on covers, and internal artists don't necessarily work on the cover either.

  • When you create new character pages, can you please also create the categories? Just go to the categories and type {{Character Appearances}}, {{Character Images}}, or {{Quotes}} on the appropriate category. If nothing links to it, like there may not be a quote, then it doesn't need created.

  • Hey, Bobbie, I've noticed that you've been adding the solicitation text from DC on our collection pages. While the ideal is that those summaries contain some kind of information, it is the site's policy that we do not copy text directly from other sources - even if it is public domain information.

It is best to paraphrase, where possible and only if necessary. We like to give the sense that all of the content here is curated for fans by fans - and DC's solicits tend to be more about selling you a comic than they are about giving you useful information about it. That's what we're here for. So if you have the time to fill out those fields, please do it in your own words, rather than just copying it from somewhere else.

    • I'm sorry. The reason I was using the info from the pages on the DC website was I saw someone else previously had used it on another collection page. If it is possible, may I fix them later today (Pacific Time)?

    • That's no problem - we don't catch it every time, so it's bound to happen now and then!

  • Hello!

Thank you for uploading new content to the DC Database project!

We have lots of images in our database, 124,348 in fact, and in order to keep them organized we use a system of naming, categories and licensing added to each.

    1. Please review our Naming Conventions for Images. Images are categorized by name, so a descriptive name rather than a string of numbers is important.
      1. As a guide, look what other images in a character's gallery are called, and continue with the same name and number. If you upload a first image of a character, use "[Name] [Universe] 001". Do not use parentheses, or the full pagename. Ignore the Universe designation if it is a New Earth character.
      2. Issue covers should be given at least the title of the series, the volume and the number. A name similar to the issue is preferred: "Title Vol 1 1". Textless covers should be called "Title Vol 1 1 Textless". Files that do not indicate the issue number will be deleted.
    2. Images should be no less than 300px wide, unless no bigger image is available.
    3. Add the Image Template to the images you upload. This is mandatory. Fill it in as detailed here, or below.
    4. Selecting the proper license is vital to properly maintaining our images. Please choose the license which best describes the image you are uploading. The most commonly used are 'Comic Single Panel' and 'Comic Cover', respectively.
    5. Other fields that should be filled in: Issue, Subject1, Artist. Add Source if you've taken it from a different site. If you've taken it from a different site and don't know the issue, DO NOT UPLOAD IT.

For a more in-depth guide, see Help:Image Template Hub. In addition, please take a moment to review our policies page and more specifically our image policy.

Questions can be directed to any of our admins, or asked on our forums.
