We had an issue a little while ago where a DC staff member got into an edit war with you over the details of her own life.
I can understand why you might not believe that someone claiming to be a staff member is a staff member, but for the most part, that usually is the case.
In the future, if someone claims to be a staff member and changes one of your edits, you can probably take them at their word. If you don't agree with them, or they don't seem to understand how the Staff Template works, contact an administrator, and we will explain things to them.
Oh, and don't get into edit wars as a general rule...
Keep up the good work, and try to make sure that the information you add to those pages is as accurate as possible. We have had a few issues with staff members feeling that the information on their page was too invasive or inaccurate, and as far as we're concerned, we want to keep on their good side.
This is my sole edit --- http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Lisa_Aufenanger?diff=prev&oldid=1080402 ---- I was putting the correct information in its proper place. I think there was a misunderstanding of what the Title field is. I did not change the Employer. But whatever. Speaking in general now, all the information I add is checked. Thanks. :)
I know it was a misunderstanding. I left her a message to explain what happened.
I was just warning you that if something like that happens again, just be careful about it and notify an administrator so that we can resolve it without much bloodshed :P
while you're editing staff pages, if you could check the employer field for uses of square brackets, and get rid of them, that would be a help. Two publishers should be separated by a semi-colon, like "Marvel Comics; DC Comics".
I'm asking because you're doing a lot of Staff edits, and you might as well check for that while you're there. Thanks :)
Yeas like DC Comics, I have been doing that. ;)
I did try adding Marvel Comics; DC Comics for a while but it was ruining some links .. or something. I'll try again in the preview and see what happens.
Another little thing I've just done that's going to add a bunch more square brackets:
I made it so that locations are automatically linked, so if you can remove any brackets on locations on staff pages as you spot them, that would be nice too.
I don't mean to lay it all in your hands, I've just noticed you on those pages a lot.
Speaking of this:
Please don't create the Staff Members by Nationality categories if the category name hasn't auto-corrected to the appropriate word that refers to someone from a place. For example, the category for staff from the Philippines is Filipino Staff Members rather than "Philippines Staff Members". If you spot one that hasn't auto-corrected, let me know and I'll add it to the correction template.
You know that not everything that appears in a comic issue needs linked right? I doubt the "ghosts of ancient thieves of Lankhmar" from Sword of Sorcery Vol 1 2 will ever need a page. You can just put unimportant things in regular text without the wiki markup if it isn't deserving of its own page. Just thought I'd let you know that's ok.
