Michael Holt is a professor of physics in the parallel reality known as Earth-2. Like his New Earth counterpart, Professor Holt is married to a woman named Paula and was expecting his first child. But unlike Holt of New Earth whose wife and child died, Professor Holt's family survived. It was their survival that prevented him from following the mental development that resulted in the New Earth Holt becoming the costumed Mr. Terrific.
As one of the lead authorities on parallel dimensions of his source Earth, Professor Holt developed a miniture cosmic treadmill that allowed the dimensionally-displaced super-hero Power Girl to successfully return to New Earth.
It is unclear if Professor Holt has since become interested in becoming a costumed hero like his New Earth counterpart, Mr. Terrific.Powers and Abilities
